Fish Recipes for Camping

Fish Recipes are a healthy alternative to beef and chicken when you go camping. And these camping recipes will simply make eating fish easy and delicious. And don't forget to share your favorite recipes with us here.

Hobo Gone Fishin'

This has very little prep time, and it will be ready in less than half an hour from start to finish... Perfect for a delicious camping dinner!

  • 4 Salmon Steaks or Tuna Steaks
  • 1 Large Green Bell Pepper, cut into thin strips
  • 1 Cup Sliced Mushrooms, or canned sliced mushrooms
  • 2-3 Potatoes, sliced
  • 1/2 Cup Chopped Onions
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter or Olive Oil
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • Divide the peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, and onions into 4 equal portions. Take half of each portion and place onto 4 sheets of heavy duty aluminum foil. Place the fish onto the bed of veggies, and put the butter or olive oil on top of the fish. Salt and pepper to taste. Then add the other half of each portion of veggies on top of the fish. Roll the top down snug, and fold the edges in tightly to form a nice solid pack. Place directly on hot coals for 8 - 10 minutes. Then turn the packs in the coals and wait another 8 - 10 minutes. Remove from the coals, open, and enjoy!

    Fast Fried Fish

Here is a simple yet delicious way to have fried fish for dinner. A great recipe for freshly-caught fish or fish fillets from home.

  • 4 Boneless and Skinless Fish Fillets
  • 2 Cups Corn Meal
  • 2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Oil (we prefer Peanut Oil) - enough to cover fish in pan
  • Start heating the oil while you get the fish ready. Put the corn meal and flour in a large zipper lock bag. Dip the fillets in water. Salt and pepper both sides to taste. Place a fillet into the zipper lock bag, seal the bag, and shake to completely cover the fillet. Repeat with other fillets. Put the fillets into the oil and fry for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil, and let them drain off any excess oil. Salt and Pepper both sides again.

    Serves 4
